Allen Police Offer (R.A.D.) Rape Aggression Defense Training for Women

The Allen Police Department is instructing the R.A.D. Defense System for women.  Six Allen officers are certified to instruct R.A.D.  This fourth class consists of four (4) evenings lasting three (3) hours each.  Attendance is required to all four classes in order to complete the course.  The dates of the classes are Tuesday April 1st, Tuesday April 8^th, Tuesday April 15th and Tuesday April 22nd.  The classes will meet from 6:30-9:30 PM.  The class location will be at the Allen Heights Baptist Church, 1309 East Main Street in the gymnasium.  The class is designed for women only and they must be a minimum of 17 years of age.  The R.A.D. Systems basic physical defense instructional objective is:  "To develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked."  Many studies have shown that:  "It is only by resisting, that women have a chance to avoid being raped."  This class is limited to 25 participants and those wishing to enroll can contact Sgt. Jon Felty at the Allen Police Department CRU.  There is a $25.00 per student fee that covers a workbook and other class materials.  See the contact information below.  Applicants may seek enrollment starting today February 24, 2014.  R.A.D. stands for Rape Aggression Defense.  Please see attached application.  The first 25 paid applications that we receive will reserve a place in the class.  This class will fill very fast...do not delay if you are interested.
