It Pays To Be Observant

Home burglary...1000 block of Blanco Dr Suspects in custody!

On 12/10/2014, at approximately 2008 hours, a concerned citizen called the 
Allen Police Department to report a suspicious vehicle in the 1000 block of 
Everglades Dr. The caller gave a description of a red Mazda passenger car 
that was last seen turning south onto Bray Central Dr. While officers were 
enroute to the suspicious vehicle call, an alarm call was received in the 
1000 block of Blanco Dr.
When the first officer arrived at the home of the alarm call, he observed a red 
Mazda passenger car matching the description given by the previous caller. 
The car was occupied by two males wearing all black. The two suspects ran 
south, between houses, when they saw the officer approaching.
Forced entry was found at the home where the alarm was going off. Officers 
cleared the residence and found no suspects inside. The homeowners were 
not at home at the time of the incident.
At the same time, a perimeter was being set up and while officers searched 
the area for the suspects that fled. During the search one suspect was found
in the 1000 block of Palmetto Dr. Shortly after, a K-9 officer and his service 
K-9 were able to track and locate the second suspect near Marble Falls Dr. 
and Cibolo Dr. Both suspects were arrested without incident.
Stolen property from the home was found inside the suspect vehicle.

Octavius Dejon Scott arrest details: The U.S. Marshals Fugitive 
Joint Task Force and the Houston Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force 
were able to locate Octavius Dejon Scott at his mothers house in 
Houston, TX. Scott was taken into custody at 12:30am on 
12/11/2014 and is currently being held at the Harris County jail.

Allen Police Alert

Aggravated Robbery (home invasion) and Burglary of Habitation 
Last evening between 7:45 PM and 9:00 PM officers of the Allen Police Department responded to two home invasion style aggravated robberies. One was in the 1400 block of Rio Grande Drive and the other in the 300 block of Wrotham Lane. 

Victims reported that three (3) heavy set male suspects wearing ski masks, gloves and long sleeve shirts, bound each victim with duct tape. The victims were held at gunpoint while the suspects searched the homes for jewelry, cash and other valuables. No one was injured during the robberies. The only suspect vehicle information is a black four door sedan and possibly a new black panel van that may have been with the sedan as well. Entry was made through an open garage door at the rear of one residence. And through forced entry of the front door at the other residence. 

The Allen Police Department Criminal Investigation Division began its investigation last night and that investigation will continue today. Any person(s) that may have seen any suspicious circumstance regarding these incidents is asked to call the CID unit at 214-509-4329.

The Allen Police Department is instructing the Rape Aggression Defense training
 for women.  This seventh class consists of four evenings lasting three hours each.
  Attendance is required to all four classes in order to complete the course. The
dates of the classes are Tuesday October 21stTuesday October 28th,Tuesday 
November 4th and Tuesday November 11th.  The classes will meet from
6:30-9:30 PM. The class location will be at the Allen Heights Baptist Church,
1309 East Main Street in the gymnasium.  The class is designed for women only
 and they must be a minimum of 17 years of age.  The R.A.D Systems basic
physical defense instructional objective is: "To develop and enhance the options
 of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is
 attacked." Many studies have shown that:  "It is only by resisting, that women have
 a chance to avoid being raped."  This class is limited to 25 participants and those
 wishing to enroll can contact Officer S. Rippamonti at the Allen Police Department.
  There is a $25.00 per student fee that covers a workbook and other class materials.

Bank of the Ozarks...1054 W. Bethany Drive


Today at approximately 1:48 PM., one unknown male entered the bank and demanded cash from the tellers. Witnesses reported seeing a long gun that appears to have been a shot gun. An abandoned SUV was located a short distance from the bank in a neighborhood to the west of the bank location. Officers are reviewing video and attempting to locate the owner of the vehicle used in the robbery. The suspect exited the bank with an unknown amount of cash and their were no injuries to bank employees. only by resisting, that women have a chance to avoid being raped." 
This class is limited to 25 participants and those wishing to enroll can

$25.00 per student fee that covers a workbook and other class materials.

an opportunity to meet with officers from various units of their police

Allen Police step up enforcement for Spring Break


Allen Police to step up Speed, Seatbelt, DWI Enforcement for March, 2014.
Allen, TX.  The Allen Police Department will increase Speed, Seatbelt and DWI patrols during the month of March, 2014.  During the week of Spring Break officers will increase the focus on DWI patrols.
Officers will focus on locations and times when alcohol – related crashes are most frequent.  The enhanced patrols are funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation.
As a result of the grant, officers are able to increase patrols that target impaired drivers.
Speed and Seatbelt patrols will concentrate on daylight hours where compliance is the primary goal.
Highway Safety Tips:
Don’t drink and drive.  Designate a driver or call a cab.
Don’t text and drive.  Pull over to a safe place to text or use your cell phone.
Buckle your seat belts.
Slow down-especially in bad weather or heavy traffic.
Move over for police, fire or EMS vehicles with emergency lights on.
Make sure your vehicle is in good mechanical condition.
