Bank of the Ozarks...1054 W. Bethany Drive


Today at approximately 1:48 PM., one unknown male entered the bank and demanded cash from the tellers. Witnesses reported seeing a long gun that appears to have been a shot gun. An abandoned SUV was located a short distance from the bank in a neighborhood to the west of the bank location. Officers are reviewing video and attempting to locate the owner of the vehicle used in the robbery. The suspect exited the bank with an unknown amount of cash and their were no injuries to bank employees. Allen Police offer ( R.A.D.) Rape Agression Defense training for women in September, 2014

The Allen Police Department is instructing the R.A.D. Defense System
for women.  Six Allen officers are certified to instruct R.A.D.  This
sixth class consists of four (4) evenings lasting three (3) hours each. 
Attendance is required to all four classes in order to complete the
course.  The dates of the classes are Tuesday September 9th,
Tuesday September 16th, Tuesday September 23rd and Tuesday
September 30th.  The classes will meet from 6:30-9:30 PM.  The class
location will be at the Allen Heights Baptist Church, 1309 East Main
Street in the gymnasium.  The class is designed for women only and
they must be a minimum of 17 years of age.  The R.A.D. Systems basic
physical defense instructional objective is:  "To develop and enhance
the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations
to the woman who is attacked."  Many studies have shown that:  "It is
only by resisting, that women have a chance to avoid being raped." 
This class is limited to 25 participants and those wishing to enroll can
contact Sgt. Jon Felty at the Allen Police Department CRU.  There is a
$25.00 per student fee that covers a workbook and other class materials.

R.A.D. stands for Rape Aggression Defense.  The first 25 paid applications
that we receive will reserve a place in the class.  This class will fill very
fast...do not delay if you are interested.
