Allen Police offer (R.A.D.) Rape Aggression Defense training for women
The Allen Police Department is instructing the R.A.D. Defense System
Contact Information:for women. Six Allen officers are certified to instruct R.A.D. This third class consists of four (4) evenings lasting three (3) hours each. The dates of the classes are Thursday February 6th, Thursday February 13th, Thursday February 20th and Thursday February 27th. The class will meet from 6:30-9:30 PM. The class location will be at the First United Methodist Church of Allen, 601 South Greenville Avenue in the gymnasium. The class is designed for women only and they must be a minimum of 17 years of age. The R.A.D. Systems basic physical defense instructional objective is: "To develop and enhance the options of self-defense, so they may become viable considerations to the woman who is attacked." Many studies have shown that: "It is only by resisting, that women have a chance to avoid being raped." This class is limited to 25 participants and those wishing to enroll can contact Sgt. Jon Felty at the Allen Police Department CRU. There is a $25.00 per student fee that covers a workbook and other class materials. See the contact information below.
